On normal roads, the car is as close to intolerable as it gets. The car bounces and jumps over highway expansion joints. The entire car is so stiff, it feels as if you're smashing two rocks together and your seat is the bumper.
The front splitter is low. Very low. It makes pulling in and out of your local In-N-Out a painful experience.
The twin-turbos take a significant amount of time to spool so the power delivery isn't exactly linear. The car goes from almost timid to scary in a hurry.
The transmission is starting to show its age. It doesn't feel as refined as Porsche's PDK, or even the Corvette's eight-speed automatic.
While carving through canyons, though, rolling your foot into the throttle drops a gear, squats the rear, and puts the car in the perfect gear to put a smile on your face.
But the stiffness allows for rapid changes of direction. The fronts claw for grip, and when they find it, the car comes alive.
If you don't fear the lag though, and embrace needing to keep your foot in it, the car delivers. And delivers something amazing.
While not as noticeable on the technical parts, in the long sweepers the front grip shines, allowing you to take them at uncanny speeds.

Soulless, ugly, and overweight. These are the three things I hear nearly every armchair-enthusiast fanboy say about the Nissan GT-R. The NISMO? It's scoffed at as an even more ridiculously priced Nissan with more boost and little else. All of those people are wrong.
