By Turbosmart Blow-Off Valve for the 2021+ Bronco
In this article, we’re going to take a close-up look at the brand new Turbosmart Blow-Off Valve for the full-size Ford Bronco. This does work on the 2.3L and the 2.7L engines and it also happens to work on the little baby Bronco Sport.

The Sound
First off let’s talk about what a blow-off valve is and why might you want one. Now your stock Bronco has something called a diverter valve or a recirculation valve that releases pressure from the boosted section of the intake and reroutes it back into the non-pressurized section of the intake and it does so very quietly. Obviously, when you’re building pressure and building boost that’s what helps make power in the engine, but when you get off the throttle you want that pressure to go away as rapidly as possible and the diverter valve does that quietly.
A blow-off valve instead releases that pressure into the atmosphere under the engine bay and makes that killer “whoosh” sound that’s associated with high-performance turbocharged engines, it sounds awesome, and we recorded the sound in our video.
Build Quality
The stock diverter valve in your Bronco is also made from relatively low-end plastic components which might be fine for just putting around and a stock tuned engine, but if you’re doing any sort of performance mods or you drive the thing hard it may not stand up to the test of time. Now we are running performance mods and we just installed the VR Tuned piggyback tuner which produces over 50 additional wheel horsepower in a five-minute install and that is pushing the boost pressure. That means that that stock diverter valve is probably not going to hold up to that additional performance and you may run into problems over time.
