This Fabtech Kit is a turnkey kit that includes everything that you need to gain a dramatic increase in suspension performance both on and off-road. This is going to increase wheel travel and it’s going to yield a 3”– 4” lift depending on which specification of Bronco you’re starting with. The kit’s gonna cost around $5,000 and we have a link to that below and that’ll take you over to Motoroso.com where we sell these lift kits there you can reach us on LiveChat for support or you can call us toll-free at 833.MOTOROSO.

Now whereas the strut spacer lift kit’s going to keep the factory shocks and keep the factory ride quality, the star of the show in this coilover lift kit is the coilovers which are designed specifically for the Bronco, they’re going to deliver much higher performance off-road, and they’re going to stand up to the long-term punishment of rock crawling and high-speed off-road excursions.

One of the biggest things that make a difference in how a shock performs is how that shock is valved and it’s very important that shocks be valved for the specific application they are going on to. You can’t just take any coilover and slap it onto a Bronco and expect that to work well and naturally of course the guys over at Fabtech are not doing that. They’ve engineered these products to be valved and sprung specifically for this new application which they recognize is going to be hugely popular and very very important. They also told us that they noticed that the rear of the Bronco from the factory was a little too jittery and tended to slide out a lot so they’ve really helped to solve that problem as well as valving and springing the rear shocks specifically to solve that one major issue. They promise us that that means it’s gonna track well stay stuck to the ground and stay pointed in the direction you want it to go.

Build Quality

These shocks are also designed to take a real beating. A lot of aftermarket shocks have aluminum bodies, but in this case, the engineers at Fabtech have gone with a 304 stainless steel body which is not only stronger but more resistant to corrosion — it’s not going to rust or get all hazy and faded after several months of use in harsh conditions. They’re also utilizing a solid nitro steel piston rod in this case versus a chrome-coated piston rod. With a chrome piston rod, if it gets hit with a rock that can chip that can cause sharp edges and that can then tear the O-rings and the seals inside the shock leading to leaks and of course having to rebuild the shocks and just not lasting as long so that nitro steel piston is going to be tougher and last much longer. The shocks also feature a remote reservoir which means that the whole shock system has more fluid in it that’s going to help it stand up to the heat of long hard off-roading sessions and it means that the shock will continue performing, it’s not going to wear out on you and start to run into problems. Lastly, the mounting plates for the remote reservoirs are black powder-coated black so you get a nice clean install for these remote reservoirs.

Wheel Travel

The other thing they’ve been able to do is moving the internal floating piston out of the main shock body and into this remote reservoir for it to do its job there which gives it more dynamic range but also more importantly gives this shock more travel and which translates into more wheel travel and that is going to really really help especially in rock crawling situations. With that additional wheel travel, your final settings are going to be 11.5 inches in the front and 10.5 inches of travel in the rear. In the rear that’s a half-inch increase, but upfront it is almost three full inches of additional wheel travel which is a massive gain, especially on an independent front suspension vehicle. These remote reservoirs are also made out of hard-anodized aluminum so they’re tough, they’re connected with a high-pressure hose for durability, and the top mounting plates are also made out of black powder-coated aluminum.

Adjustability

When it comes to adjustability, these shocks are going to feature a spring preload adjustment collar it’s going to allow you to increase or decrease the stiffness of the ride and that’ll also as you add spring preload raise your ride height a little bit. These coilovers are not going to offer any sort of damping controls, and in this case with the Fabtech kit, you are going to mount them up and run them just the way they’ve tuned them which is gonna be great. If you are a really hardcore off-roader and you really wanna have adjustability like compression damping and rebound damping you’re not gonna find that in these products, but of course you are gonna pay way less for this lift kit overall than you would for something like FOX shocks or King shocks, where the set of shocks is going to cost as much as this entire kit costs. So for 90% of people, this is going to be a great ticket to super high-performance off-road suspension.

The Upper Control Arms

This full turn-key kit is also going to include the necessary control arm upgrades to correct for the geometry of the new ride height and also offer more strength and performance and adjustability. The upper control arm is the most important thing that has to be corrected here because that new ride height is going to absolutely max out the capability of the stock upper control arm. This Fabtech kit includes new control arms that correct the geometry so you can go get an alignment and everything is going to be proper, but also handle that additional wheel travel that’s coming from that extra stroke of this shock. The ability to handle the increased wheel travel is accomplished through their one-inch trophy truck grade FK uniball that has an extreme range of articulation. It also will stand up to extensive off-road punishment and that uniball is protected by this nice CNC machined aluminum dust cap that’s going to help keep that thing clean. The upper control arms also feature high durability polyurethane bushings that are going to increase the amount of feedback that you get from the trail and stiffen the ride up just a touch while also lasting the life of the vehicle. The upper control arms also have grease fittings on each bushing so that you can add grease over time to make sure everything’s smoothly operating and lasts as long as possible.

The Trailing Arms

This kit also includes Fabtech’s adjustable trailing arms which is the rear lower link. That is going to correct the position of the rear axle to put it back where it needs to be after the ride height has gone up. They are made out of 4130 Chromoly steel that’s black powder coated and it’s 0.313 inches thick which is seriously tough stuff. It also comes with polyurethane bushings that will increase trail feedback and last a long time and it has grease fittings so you can add grease in the bushings to keep them flowing smoothly. It also features this adjustable rod end which is a massive FK Heim joint that is trophy truck grade and will really stand up to the punishment.

Ease of Installation

The installation of this kit is going to be very straightforward. Everything bolts right up into place in the factory locations and we made a separate video that is the ultimate lift kit installation guide. It’s a really helpful video to show you all the different components of installing a lift kit like this and this kit will be easier to install than the one in our video because you won’t have to mess with the shocks, you’re just going to take your stock ones out and put these new ones in. We’ll put a link to that video right below.

The end result of this installation is going to yield between a 3” or a 4” lift height and that’s going to depend on the starting specifications of your Bronco and it is very simple to understand. If you have a Sasquatch package or any of the Bilstein shock-equipped Broncos like a Wild track, that’s going to have the yellow shocks which are already about an inch taller than the base Broncos. When you install this lift kit you will gain three inches of ride height. If you have any Bronco that does not have the Bilstein shocks, it’s a base Bronco and it just has the black shocks, this kit will yield a four-inch increase in ride height. No matter which Bronco you start with the end result is effectively the same ride height, and you can very easily fit 35-inch tires with zero rubbing issues whatsoever and you can probably fit 37s if you’re okay with taking out the crash bars and maybe doing a little bit of trimming here and there. We plan to do 37s on our Bronco with a four-inch lift so it’s gonna work out just fine.

Now because of that nuance and that difference Fabtech decided it was a good idea to create two different part numbers for this kit: K2385DL and K2378DL. The truth of the matter is that the components in both of those kits are exactly the same, they are totally identical, there is no difference between those two different part numbers so don’t worry about buying the wrong one. The end result is that if you had a Bilstein-equipped Bronco you’re going to get three inches of additional ride height that were one part number and it’s the same product that is going to give you four inches of ride height over on a base Bronco.
