The Ford Mustang is the original “pony car.” The classic formula of V8 in the front, loud noises and wheelspin in the back, has held true for over half a century of motoring fun for the whole family. In 2015, Motoroso was born, and so was the 6th-generation Mustang, dubbed the S550. Here at Motoroso we love us some muscle cars, and so one of our first project builds was a 2015 Ford Mustang GT, built for SEMA in cooperation with Ford and our friends at MAD Industries. It started life as a black, 6-speed manual transmission fastback coupe with a 420 horsepower V8 engine, but now it’s so much more.
The thing you’ll notice first about the Motoroso Mustang is the sound– you can’t hear it a mile away, but it certainly won’t sneak up on you from down the block. The exhaust is a Gibson cat-back 3” dual exhaust, running through an X-pipe and dual mufflers to black ceramic 4.5” tips. Gibson claims that it adds 32 horsepower and 34 lb-ft of torque, which is a big claim. We can’t necessarily verify that, because we installed a supercharger at the same time, but we don’t doubt it because we know Gibson knows what they’re doing.
What, you thought we’d just gloss over the fact that this thing is supercharged? Of course not! The Motoroso Mustang has a Roush R2300 TVS Phase 1 Supercharger System, which not only provides a boost up to 670 crank horsepower and 545 lb-ft of torque, but is also 50-state emissions legal and retains your full Ford warranty when installed by a licensed professional.
For the body, we went with an Air Design body kit. Air design keeps much of the stock styling, but adds just enough aero and accentuates the muscular lines of the Mustang GT on another level. This kit adds a gloss black rear valence and spoiler, side skirts, and a front bumper with a splitter. Unfortunately, because our car is lowered, we ended up scraping the splitter on everything and have to sadly do without it. Completing the body aesthetics is a KPMF matte-pearlescent white vinyl wrap featuring the Motoroso logo on the back left and right quarters.
The car sits 2” lowered from stock on Eibach lowering springs, which lower the car’s center of gravity and keep it flatter and stiffer around turns. Unsprung below those springs are Rotiform 21×9 front and 21×10 rear Rotiorm SPF 3-piece forged aluminum wheels, candy coated in red clear coat over brushed aluminum. Behind those wheels are Wilwood Aero6 front and Aero4 rear brake calipers for extra stopping power.
Inside the car, the little details make all the difference. The front seats are coated in Roadwire #600 red and black leather, embroidered with the Motoroso logo. Despite being completely custom, the seat covers still function with the stock airbags– you know, just to keep things kosher if something goes horribly wrong. The stock, carbon fiber dash trim piece was sanded and then clear coated to take it from the standard matte gray to a glossier finish. For audio, we upgraded to a Focal audio system, with 6.5” coaxial speakers in the doors and in the rear decklid, as well as a single 8” subwoofer custom mounted in the rear decklid. The result is a crisp, clean audio system with enough bass to make the hairs on the back of your neck tingle just right.
Our Mustang GT was built for SEMA, but does its job on the road as well. It’s not just a sports car, it’s our sports car. We hope you’re inspired by our build– if you still need some more ideas, check out the Explore feature on Motoroso, then head over to the Motoroso Marketplace to check out cool mods and accessories for your vehicle.
