VIDEO: F-150 HEADLIGHT INSTALLATION GUIDE
We’ve already got aftermarket headlights on our F-150 and they’re made by Anzo USA, but we’re going to be replacing them with Anza USA’s latest offering for the F-150. It’s a fully blacked-out housing, has projector beams, daytime running lights, and a sequential turn signal. This is a really, really easy installation and you’ll be able to do this in your driveway with a basic set of tools.
Tools you’ll need for this installation include:
- 7, 8, and 10mm Sockets
- 6” Extension Ratchet
- Panel Puller
- Flat Head Screwdriver
INSTALLATION STEPS
- Begin by removing the fender liner from the inside of the wheel well.
- Use your panel puller to pull the fender liner away. With the fender liner out of the way, you can begin taking apart the front headlight cover to reveal the headlight mounting bolts.
- Remove the pop clip at the top of the cover, and then gently pull straight out on the cover with your hands.
- Remove all the headlight mounting bolts. There are (6) 10mm bolts and Ford thought it’d be funny to put (1) 8mm bolt in there as well.
- Remove another pop rivet found in the wheel well.
- Use a Flathead screwdriver to undo the clip on the inside of the lower mounting bracket. This will give you enough clearance to remove the light.
- Now remove the (3)10mm mounting bolts, (1) located on the inner side of the headlight toward the grill, and (2) from the top.
- When moving the headlight assembly, there’s an alignment pin on the fender, so make sure to pull straight out on that pin on the fender before trying to remove it from the chassis,
- Unplug the (3) wiring harness connectors from the back of the headlight and remove the headlight assembly from your truck.
- Grab your new headlight assembly and start by connecting the (3) plugs on the wiring harness.
- Slide the new headlight past the lower bracket and up into the alignment pin in the fender, making sure that it’s firmly in place.
- Reinstall your (3) 10mm mounting bolts for the headlight bracket.
- Connect the lower mounting bracket clip by reaching into the wheel well and pressing the clip into the bracket from behind.
- Reinstall all (6) 10mm bolts and the (1) hilarious 8mm bolt into the lower mounting bracket for the headlight and your front trim cover.
- Reinstall the pop rivet in the fender well.
- Reinstall the front trim plastic by lining up all the clips and gently pressing them into place.
- Reinstall the upper push clip into the front shrimp with the OEM fender liner, simply line up the clips and press them back into place, and if you have fender flares like us, re-install those just the way you uninstalled them.
With this side of the installation done, simply do the other side the same way. And you’re all set. Don’t forget to use the adjuster screw on the top of your headlights to adjust the height of your beams.
That wraps up our installation of the Anzo headlights on our 2015 Ford F-150, we hope you thought the article was helpful.
