By The new Ford Focus RS launched in 2015 and quickly became one of the most sought after hatchbacks on the market. Ford developed a 2.3 liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder engine, and of course EcoBoost means that it’s turbocharged. They’ve managed to tune that to 350 horsepower and 350 foot pounds of torque, which is a god-awful amount of power to get out of a little four-banger! In addition to the power upgrades over the ST, they also pushed all of that power through an all-wheel drive system, making it one of the hottest hatchbacks available. That’s a lot of juice for your Focus RS and you’re going to need some supporting mods to make that happen. If you really want to get the most out of it and push it to the absolute max you’re going to want to do upgraded injectors, ignition coils, definitely an upgraded intercooler, and maybe even an E85 conversion. And if you’re going to push it to the edge like that, you’re probably going to want to also do upgraded connecting rods and pistons. And if you’ve already got the motor out for the turbo install, and you’re going to go that far with the tune, we just recommend you do it right from the start.
