Dear Motoroso, I was wondering, does this turbocharger break the Ford warranty? Also, how loud is it compared to stock? What tuning device/tuner should I use? How much wheel horsepower can it make by itself and with a tune? What mods can I use to get the horsepower up to 500 whp with this turbo? Thanks, Jack

Answers:

Hi Jack, Great questions! First, yes it does violate the factory warranty. Any aftermarket turbo upgrade will void the warranty. Because this is a direct stock replacement, it's possible they wouldn't notice during a warranty claim, but that's a gamble you would need to decide to take. The turbo itself shouldn't be louder, but because you'll be forcing more air through you will likely find an increased exhaust and intake sound. With just the turbo install you should notice about a 70WHP increase. We recommend the SCT X4 Tuner (https://www.motoroso.com/p/1085960-sct-performance-7015-x4-power-flash-programmer). TO get to 500WHP that'll require a lot of supporting mods: intercooler, intake, catless downpipe, exhaust, injectors, and an aggressive tune. Add an E85 conversion and you'd be there.

will it fit a 2020+ mustang ecoboost

Answers:

Yes, it fits the 2020+, however, it does NOT fit on the versions with the HPP (High Performance Package) engine, only the standard Ecoboost.

How does the tuning process look like? Does the tuner recommended come preprogrammed with a tune that will upload to the car or do I have to upload a custom tune to the tuner myself?
