The Pinto was ideal because of its light weight of 2,100 pounds. With a Cessna Skymaster providing the aerodynamic “heart” of the car-plane, as well as over 40 intricate modifications.
Chief engineer was A. M. Kaplan, a Lockheed and North American Rockwell veteran.
