Meng Motorsports HID Kit Install

Here is a basic step by step how-to installation for our Meng Motorsports V.2 HID kits. Vehicle used is a 2007 Scion TC, however the basic principles still apply on any other vehicle.

Scion tC

First step is to carefully unplug the OEM bulb harness. Then unlock and remove the factory bulb. The particular bulb in this vehicle is removed by turning the bulb base 1/4 turn.

2007 Scion tC

Second step, Install the bulb, the same way the OEM bulb was removed. Take care when handling the bulb to prevent damage.

Make sure the bulb is properly locked and secured in the headlamp.

Next, connect the actual bulb wires (2 wires) to the corresponding ballast plugs.

The plug and play harness will connect the ballast to the factory headlamp plug. The factory headlamp plug was originally the plug removed in Step 1.

The female end of the plug and play wire connects to the factory head lamp plug shown here.

In the last step, make sure all the connections are secure. Turn on the HID kit to test the operation. If the light does not turn on, try reversing the polarity of the male plug that goes into the ballast (plug from step 6). The kit will only turn on if the polarity is correct.
