Question:
could this ever make throttle stay stuck and not be able to throttle down to stop the auto?
Answers:
No. Throttle's "sticking" was a problem years ago when there was an actual physical throttle cable in a housing and the cable would stick. New vehicle throttles are "drive by wire", and it's an electrical signal sending the throttle position. The pedal commander is not taking over the signal, just intercepting it and changing it. There's no situation in which it would "stick" and stay open.
